It always struck me as odd how Yamato isn't very popular amongst Kancolle fans, despite being, y'know, the fucking Yamato. Will the anime change that, since it looks like she's going to get a big role?

Because in the real world, she was useless and used as a command post for the Combined Fleet's admiralty, her service record is terrible. In the game she's resource heavy and doesn't perform all that well, RNG or not in latter maps.
I don't hate her, but having Haruna and Kongou and Hyuuga is enough for me when it comes to battleships.

Now, I have no real knowledge of the franchise outside of ero doujinshi, but you'd think things like shitty CG and most importantly this horrible generic art style that completely fails to convey the girls' cuteness would upset at least some people.
It's competent and obviously has some budget, but I can't help but feel it's a giant waste.
