It seems like it sets up the potential for inner clan strife before the 10 MC selection with Tatsuya used as an excuse. Honestly, it was kind of waiting to happen the minute Mitsugu started making side comments about Maya and then his pretentious meeting with Miyuki in Volume 13 just made it seem like not everyone was thrilled by how stuff is going in the clan. You do realise there are several branch families, all of which like have people on Mitsgu/Fumiya's level with unique abilities like the magic that took out all of the military hardliners in volume 13 and miyukis own mental interference magic which is capable of killing Tatsuya.
The Yotsuba are a clan that are spread out with secret identities, Tatsuya can't just nuke them within Japan, don't be retarded. If he does that the entirety of Japan will be after him.
It has been out right stated by Tatsuya that he can't yet move against the Yotsuba family, did you read the untouchable chapter where we got a glimpse of all the unique abilities the clan possesses? The government won't support a clan that is revealed to have dabbled in taboo human experimentation which the Yotsuba have done to a great extent. Once that information is out, Tatsuya is a living example of this, it's likely they would lose their commission. Just like the Ichihana for the puppet terrorists.
Another possibility is by cutting off their sponsor or turning them against the Yotsuba. The Yotsuba aren't going to survive for long without their donors. Nor would they fare well if the other 27 families find out their dealings.
