I wonder if Bolt can be more like the detective from the show Motive, who is more of a psychological analyst who detects discrepancies and inconsistencies in a person's psyche (after crime) as the leads. That'll fit well with his (probably) inherited skills of reading people.

Read the Calvin and Hobbes 10th Anniversary book, Calvin and Susie have little crushes on each other but are both still in the "opposite sex" is icky phase. Considering Kishimoto couldn't even handle Naruto getting a girlfriend before turning 18 (hence the 2 year time skip in the Last), their relationship would probably be akin to a childhood crush still in the cooties phase.
