It has surpassed my expectation in many regards and I'm really looking forward to the next season. Even if they decide to skip all internal monologue during the archer/shirou fight I'm sure it will turn out good, probably not as good as in the VN, but good non the less. The one thing were I think the anime will be better then the VN is in the final battle against Gil. It was a little bit to short in the VN and compared to the fight against archer it felt like an anticlimax.

I read other parts and thought that there was no way they'd be able to fit it all in an episode, but they did. They really condense the dialogue down to its most important bits.

The funny thing is, the same fights in the manga were a lot less exciting and impactful. I don't even think they were even that detailed. They were done so beautifully in the anime that I'm a bit disappointed as I read through the manga now about how they did it.
Prisma Illya was originally a parody though and with time and popularity was able to better itself, it's only natural their scenes be redone beautifully.

While none of the fights in F/SN are as flashy as that one, Prisma fights don't have much going on in the character department. Try and name ONE fight in Prisma that you invested more in it than Archer vs Shirou or Kirei vs Shirou. They're some of the most simplest fights, but they're the most memorable because of what the characters are fighting for.
