This is promising, particularly because he directed the movies. At the very least if he's given good material he should be able to give it solid execution.

The studio and the writer don't seem to have much action/drama in their background. The writer in particular has done a lot of their writing for Kyoani's more recent shows. He might do a good job with making the girls cute (especially if Teitoku is present and likeable) but I don't know about their ability to make for a compelling storyline.

That's a good justification, but I'd still rather have an episode about the Akatsukis, or the Kongous, or Yamato, instead of an episode where Fubuki hangs out with the Akatsukis, or Fubuki hangs out with the Kongous, or Fubuki hangs out with Yamato. There's only so much screentime in the anime and I'd prefer if Fubuki's introduction to the world only took an episode or two.
