I'm currently looking to download Oreimo season 2. I watched the first season back in 2011 and never followed it up. The only torrent I can find, on Nyaa, has 5 seeders and is an unofficial batch.

To start off, it works well as a one time thing, its high quality and immediately available for lookup, there are disadvantages related to producing content like Gifs and Webms but other than that its pretty decent for watching and doesn't require organizing your hardrives. It serves its purpose pretty well, after the experience is over there won't be very much of a change between the streaming experience and the player experience. If you chose to move on after watching an episode of something streaming requires nothing after the viewing experience either.

Let's talk about the only actual benefit CR has over downloading: the ability to update the .ass track. While the HS bot scrapes the initial subs, CR streamers can end up watching a v10 script with fixes and suggestions reported by viewers.
Can you imagine a feedback-loop like this working for fansubs? What about your .mkv file being able to point to a repo where updated scripts live? Would you even want this?
