Wow I usually enjoy the episodes but this was terrible. They didn't bother to animate any fighting between the Shittenou and the Senshi, Beryl could have pushed Usagi aside instead of just standing there and some really forced/ badly executed drama. Wow I'm honestly shocked at how bad it was.

The anime/live action version of Usagi would have never done something so selfish. I understand that she is a 14 year old girl who had to kill her boyfriend, but to then turn around and attempt suicide? Seriously? There were still enemies that needed to be defeated. Queen Metaria is trying to take ever the world and destroy peace - and she wants to just off herself.

I've been watching this all season long and lying to myself. It was good I assured myself, these idiots on the Internet don't know what they're talking about. But goddamn did this episode prove me wrong. It was cringe after cringe, and the sparing of the shittennou was such a giant waste of time. I mean, I knew they'd end up dying, they had to. But I didn't expect it to be so goddamn stupid.
Even as far from the manga as it was at times, the original did a far better job of conveying its darker tones.
I really want to drop this shitfest.

I personally feel as thought their relationship was "cuter" in the manga but the filler from the anime definitely fleshed things out in terms of their relationship and gave it time to really grow. I have to say though that Mamoru's English counterpart was downright nasty to Usagi in my opinion and that it why it turned me off to their relationship somewhat (I include Rei, Luna, and Chibi Usa's behavior in this as well. The NA version really fucked things up in terms of characterization).
As for what other female fans may claim about their relationship in the manga, that's because they take issue with Mamoru's true feelings overall for Usagi in the manga. I've read forum posts stating that Mamoru only wants to be with Usagi purely because it is a part of his destiny to do so and they feel that it didn't come across that way in the manga. I wasn't surprised to find that those who think this way wanted Usagi to be with Seiya instead.

Doesn't make it any less stupid. I get that manga Usagi was weak, but the suicide made her weak and stupid. She "overcame" it due to fucking coincidence. Her mother saved her with the Ginzuishou the first time. The second time, the sword hit the watch and she just happened to knock herself out somehow.
In SMC, Usagi outright STATED before the senshi sent to the moon that she would never become a tragic princess again, unless my subtitles were fucked. What does Usagi go and do after slashing Endymion? She goes right ahead and does exactly what she said she wasn't going to do.
