The only Gundams I'd seen before were SEED and DESTINY back when they aired on TV in my country.
But I absolutely am loving G-Reco, it's one of my favorite shows to each week. I'm going to have to work my way through the other Gundam series now.
You should at least give it a shot and go in with an open mind.

It's shit. You know how you were a kid, and you took some random object or folded up paper and pretended these parts were a gun, engine and what have you? Every Gundam show is basically like that, only it was designed by manchildren instead of children. And this one is no exception. They try to cover very adult, heavy topics like war and international politics, only in some strange pseudo-human world where nobody's motivations make any sense, interactions between central characters make little sense, and where military might is determined by how many arbitrarily complex parts, color schemes and glowing bits your robots have. Where writers fill episodes with random technobabble but only pay attention to physics half the time at best. Nothing is worse than pseudo-hard scifi, that is soft scifi with shallow pretenses of being hard scifi.
