The first animated series is at best average, the Movie 1st is much better, I'd say skip the first series and go for the Movie, you won't miss much aside of pointless filler.
The second animated season is much better, but the movie is great too and has better action, you should probably watch both if you have the time, or if you just want to rush it just go for both movies.

Speaking from someone who got started with the first movie:
First movie I say would be decent to watch. Just keep in mind it's a movie (so they had a bigger budget!) and changes a few things compared to the TV counterpart. It's still worth watching the TV series for some of the character moments, although it does drag IMO.
Second movie isn't really a substitute, considering they cut material from the TV series because of total runtime.
They both function as in-universe movies as well, complete with the first movie having a commentary track with the characters. So expect cover ups and not necessarily historically accurate to the actual events.
