>>
So what do you want to bet every single character ends up switching to a different field from the one they originally intended and they never end up making an anime together
>>
>>118199658
I thought what happened was that they called in the key animators individually to explain to them the scene they were assigned to draw.
>>
>>118199771
he unfortunate thing is that this that, under normal circumstances this would be the perfect oppourtunity to further her career and get promoted, now that Honda is quitting.

But, since she has so little experience, and yes that a year actually working in the field, there`s no way they could give her that position. She`ll be an old woman by the time she gets another shot at career advancement.

>>
>eating with the voice actressses

This show is such wishfulfillment, I always wanted to see them do mundane roles oh god yes
>>
>>118200093
Oh god no! I'd hate it if that happened!
>>
>>118200043
Turnover for young people in corporate culture is always obscenely high.

People come out of college and university with a vague idea of what they want to do, and often times that idea radically changes once they get a taste of the actual job. In many cases they end up needing to settle for something well outside the scope of what they actually want to do just because it`s the only thing in reach, and will jump ship the moment they find a better deal.

You never hire someone 18-25 and expect them to last more than a year. The few that do are an exception, and usually are unmotivated individuals that lack ambition eg. Tarou.

Among lesbian communities, a plaid shirt is code for 'top'.

Though I suppose that could vary from area to area, it's a pretty standard symbol as far as I'm aware.

Gay communities have tonnes of calling card symbols like that, though the more specific ones get nitty-gritty. The point is to make it easy for others to pick you out in public without drawing undue attention to yourself, and also to indicate things like what position you take in a relationship and any extreme edge-case fetishes you might be looking for.

The bandanna system is pretty crazy for that kind of stuff.

>>118202410
It's not a salaried position. They're paid a fixed amount of money for the work that they do, like X dollars per cut.

Low-level animators make the bare minimum per cut, because they're obviously less experienced and talented. They get shafted with the low-importance cuts until they prove themselves, and they recieve fewer jobs and less work in a year than a more experienced animator, because you can't possibly expect a newbie to do the same volume of work as an experienced pro, and can't trust them with more advanced or important scenes.

A single episode can have hundreds of cuts, and Ema is probably only doing a small handful of them, and likely isn't getting any work outside of exodus that year. Compared to Osagawara, who will have every single cut pass through her hands at some point.

>>
>>118200792
Female staff in the industry quits because they have to get married or something, this is a really common case.
>>
>>118202852
Because it's not all that shit. Low-level animators get little work and little pay because they can't handle more work, and can't produce quality results deserving of more pay. Being given work is a privilege because it allows you to further hone your art and gain experience that will allow you to perform work worthy of a bigger paycheck, as well as allowing you access to resources from that studio to further your craft (eg. old keyframes).

If you get snooty and refuse work, that work will just go to the veteran that can handle a few extra cuts per episode and already makes a decent living doing something he loves.

Plus studios only have so much funding to throw around. Your pay won't improve if they can't afford to pay you more, no matter how 'in-demand' your talent (or lack thereof) is.
>>
>>118202818
Who else do they have? Tarou? Erika is quitting, so unless they manage to hire from outside, Aoi's the best they got.
>>
>>118202927
She's gonna join that 5 people company
>>
>>118202983
So they're all lesbians or something?

She'd get Honda's job in that case, not the GM since the GM's not going anywhere because she has a cushy job.

>>
Why would anyone want to make anime? Really seems like it only has shit jobs.
>>
>>118203004
They will almost certainly hire from the outside. There's no point in even having someone payed to be in that position if they lack the experience to actually do the job.

There are always experienced PAs from other companies that would be glad to join your studio if it means a promotion. Tarou and Aoi both simply lack the experience to be eligible.
>>

Also, Taro is a piece of shit.

She did not get uncontrollably drunk this time. They should save that moment when she's with Zukachan.
>>
>>118203032
Whoops, I thought Honda's position was what we were talking about, cause I think she'll probably get that in the next couple episodes. She might get GM at the end if there's a timeskip or something.
>>
>>118203130

Something that lets me have lots of free time to watch anime.
>>
>>118203130
A salary that doesn't flirt with poverty line, 50 hour max per week, 401k matching, good health and dental insurance, opportunities for telecommuting when you don't want to wear pants, and decent job security+opportunities for advancement.
>>
>>118202003

2000$ a month is a perfectly good pay in most western countries.

In most places the cost of living isn't as high as in USA.
>>

>>

Hot girls can make a ton of money by just lying down and closing their eyes for 10 minutes. If she was a guy that's a completely different story.

Ema is not even making 1k.

Compensated dating doesn't require sex, anon.

Segawa probably gets a decent enough pay and basically draws cute girls in key frames and can keep her pants off as much as she wants. Doesn't sound like a shit job to me.

>Quitting a job before finding a new one

Why is this anime so filled with suffering
>>
>>118204101
Self-inflicted suffering
>>
>>118204026

But it pays better if it does.
>>
>>118204171
Why hurt one's long-term earning potential by going for short-term gains?
>>
>>118204101
That's not suffering, that's just being an idiot.

Her job may be disappointing and have no future, but that's no reason to drop it like a hot shit before finding a replacement. She could continue to make money, get experience and reap benefits while also looking for a new job, and if she couldn't find any she'd still have the security of her current employment to fall back on. Plus her hireability would skyrocket after completing a full year.

CG-chan is just not very good at this whole life thing.

Idiocy and lack of common sense aside, it doesn't sound like she went through hell looking for that job in the first place. People like that usually don't know how good they have it.
>>
>>118204275
Young, dumb twenty-somethings aren't very good at this whole career thing apparently.

She should have cultivated mentors instead of asking her equally clueless friends about what to do. Most older folks are happy to mentor young employees, it makes them feel relevant again.

I bet the President would have helped CG-chan eventually land a position with a company that does more story-related CG since he has those connections. But no, she quit like an idiot instead.
>>
>>118204473

President would've helped her.

With the D that is.

She drew that cat so well, Goth Loli-sama herself had to write a letter with three exclamation marks in its title. She's going to be fine.
>>

The President is a handsome man with his own thriving business though.

If I was a cute CG-chan with ambiguous sexual preferences, I'd take his D

It's not too far fetched though. I know someone who quit a high paying job to go be a school teacher because she ended up hating her first job.

It's fine wanting to change jobs, but unless they completely treat you like shit and work you like a slave, it's always best to actually find and get the new job first, before quitting.

Especially when you don't even have a year of experience yet.
>>
>>118204650
That;s not the stupid thing.

The stupid thing is that she quit her job before lining up a new job. Now if everybody turns her down because she's poisoned the well by quitting so quickly, she'll be on her ass when her savings run dry. She probably still has student loans to pay back, too.
>>
>>118204650
No, I can respect that decision because that's moving to another field entirely.

Mii-chan is quitting a great CG-job for a chance to land another CG-job. It's entirely counterproductive because she's giving up connections, experience, and financial opportunities that would have smoothed her transition from one job to another.

Now, she's just another unemployed shmuck minimal experience and connections.

It's interesting because, now that I think about it there's been somewhat of an absence of sound design in this show outside of that amazing car scene at the beginning of the first episode. It's been all talking and white noise since then.

I'm off today, but I have to tell you, watching an episode of Shirobako before I go in for a closing shift is just pure torture.

I don't know why I do it every other Thursday.
