I thought it was great. Koike's style is one hell of a treat, and I love it when Lupin uses the Walther. As much as I'm enjoying watching the Red Jacket series right now, I really miss the gun fights from the Green Jacket series.
It's pretty fucking good. Hence why /a/ doesn't talk about it

What's the difference between the green jacket series and the red jacket series? Which came first if I wanted to download all of Lupin?

Green Jacket came first and it's generally more serious in tone than Red Jacket. Green Jacket Lupin was a suave James Bond type lady killer while Red Jacket is more of a lovable goofy oaf. Green Jacket episodes were more straight-laced and filled with action while Red Jacket were more campy fun in vein of Hanna Barbera era shows. Both are good for different reasons but Red Jacket is more well known. Not sure what the new Blue Jacket era will bring but Jigen Gravestone made me excited for more with the new TV anime next year.

Green Jacket is the first series from 1971. Red Jacket started airing in 1977. Both are availible on BakaBT. Green Jacket is a bit darker. For instance, Lupin and the gang have no problems with killing people (at least in the Oosumi directed episodes). Red Jacket is a bit more slapstick, and characters are more likely to shoot guns out of hands or cut off peoples cloths than kill them.
Green Jacket is closer to the manga.

My big regret is that the Lupin series itself has a "non-continuous" storyline so it's really hard for me to watch it, cuz you know, there's nothing to keep me going. Monster of the Week-type stuff just isn't too good for those who like genuine character building and plots, I think.

Legend of Galactic Heroes? I read a lot of really lengthy book series and they do just fine. I'm not critiquing Lupin, just saying that it's style unfortunately is not something I can maintain interest in.
Aside from the asspull explanation for howJigen avoided being shot in the head, it was pretty great.

They're horizontal and doubt fit the text. I mean look at that guy saying "ちがう・・・？"? Instead of one vertical bubble, it's a plain circle that the word barely fits in. Same for the next line he speaks. And the top right bubble has a lot of empty space, which is uncommon. Again, it's probably because manga standards were different when Lupin was written.
