Her character was amazing for the time we got to see her in disappearance. It was important to know this character, because this is Yuki's true personality if she were truly able to let go of her alien nature and become completely human. Disappearance was all we needed to see of her, IMO, but she's still cute.

Also, looking at the new chapter, it seems that the art has undergone another shift since we stopped getting raws. Chapter 55 was the last one I'd seen before this one.

I read the translation of the LN and didn't watch the movie, but to me it seemed more like the personality was one that would appeal to Kyon rather than a real Yuki. Or, if not necessarily directly to him, more like her as she imagined herself as a person. That's why Kyon rejecting that and going back to the real world seemed important.
Speaking of which, the big event that was supposed to have been the major contributor to the Disappearance thing was the winter storm where the canopy alien things attacked, which hasn't been animated yet, has it? The person that each member saw that showed up during the night in their rooms was pretty amusing.
