I think it was good because it wasn't really a good speech. It made bare how ugly things really are and that is the point entirely. No attempts to glorify it, no excuses, no turning a deaf ear to how crazy it is to play a game like that. In essence humans can, together, make any arbitrary goal a worthy cause. It's not that destination that matters but the journey, difficulties and overcoming them. The structure of the speech itself really stood by those same principles so in that sense I guess it has to be called good. And it definitely made the characters of Silver Sword infinitely more relatable.

The speech itself is not the problem, it's the pacing and the delivery. It just screams boring and fake. Real gamers don't fucking listen to someone's story time the whole way through. There's interruptions, more shitty drama, people getting angry, and the most universal thing of all, blame shifting.
But that's mostly because Silver Swords are side characters no one gives a shit about but if you compare the scene to stuff like Giant Killing which has tons of locker room scenes half time and otherwise which features the main characters and their opposing team the difference is very clear which piece of fiction is more intricate on human behavior despite both taking liberties.

It was more than that. You could see it on their faces when they started thinking about the repercussions of roaming raid bosses. This wasn't some bug that players could just complain to the devs about until it was fixed, or something they needed to worry about becoming true for every other raid in the game.
This was the realization that the entire raid system of their MMO that kept it balanced was thrown out of the window, that no matter how many times they tried they couldn't handle three raid bosses at once with the limitations set for raiding in their world, and that they could only reliably raid low level areas now. There was no one they could complain to for a fix, it was now a natural law that suddenly made their entire guild's purpose for existing - to do high level raids - no longer viable.
The only thing comparable to this sort of existential terror in the real world would be if every single MMO tomorrow suddenly decided all end game content should be impossible, and that nothing would change their minds.
