Except that that detail was already revealed in Fate and therefore there is no harm in throwing it out there in UBW at a logical point in time.
For example we know from Fate that Shirou knows projection not just reinforcement, so it doesn't feel like an asspull when he projects Kanshou and Bakuya for the first time in UBW even though he told Rin and Saber that the only thing he can do is reinforcement.
