This film was incredible.

One of the best anime films I have ever seen.
>>
>>117959307
Sloppy art style.
>>
>>117959442
Bait.
>>
Incredibly shit
>>
i see
>>
>>117959307
Would you elaborate without spoiling? You've piqued my interest.
>>
>>117959492
Adding a bunch of pencil scribbles does not make it good.
>>
>>117959307
>all these Takahatabots
>>
>>117959615
100% bait
>>
>>117959557
It is a retelling of the oldest Japanese folk tale 'The Tale of the Bamboo Cutter'.
>>
No.
It was generic movie with different style and slightly above average animation.
Nothing to write home about.
>>
>>117959800
>slightly above average animation
It's one of the best-animated anime movies out there, what are you on about?
>>
>>117959800
>generic
Nice buzzwords.
>>
>>117959800
bait
>>
>>117959882
Throwing more money at korean inbetweeners won't make it good.

>>117959908
It is as old as japan itself. It is almost definition of generic. See >>117959773
>>
>>117959978
>Throwing more money at korean inbetweeners won't make it good.
Good thing the movie had a bunch of talented Japanese key animators working on it instead.
>>
>>117959978
What does the age of a story have to do with being a generic film? Apply yourself.
>>
>>117960040
And? Are you saying the key animators did the inbetweens?

>>117960048
Being old means it was told many times already.
>>
>>117959963
>>117959908
>>117959762

You're only attracting shitposting by putting this movie on a pedestal and disregarding everyone who didn't liked it as bait, m8
>>
>>117960107
You are quite dull. There is no valid connection you have made between a film being generic and a story being old.
>>
>>117959307
Just finished it.

Really touching, I didn't expect that much out of it, a really nice surprise.
The art fits well, beautiful by it's simplicity and remind of old Japanese paintings.

I had a lump in my throat during some scenes.

Fag
>>
>>117961225
Yeah, you sure are manly, edgelord.
>>
>>117960048
Do you think Tarkovsky's Andrei Rublev was generic because it was based on a story from the 15th century?

>implying you have ever seen it
>>
How to tell if someone is casual or not

If they suck this films dick, they're casual.

If they don't, they aren't.

This film is ONLY impressive to low power level faggots who don't know shit.
>>
>>117961324
Actually I would suggest knowing your shit makes it all the more impressive. Who cares though you are just baiting.
>>
>>117961324
Is your self esteem satisfied now ?
>>
>trolling this film
I doubt it will work. Great film, even if a bit slow. I enjoyed it more than Miyazaki's The Wind Rises or mainstream american movies from 2014.
>>
>>117961113
Go see a doctor anon!
>>
>>117961495
That speaks more for your shit taste
>>
>¥5 billion

"Ironic" bad animation sure is expensive!
>>
>>117962346
You mean good animation right? Who am I kidding people on /a/ think good animation means "muh fluid motion, muh high fps! muh character details! muh models!"
>>
>>117962451
It's not worth arguing with people on /a/ who think they have good taste because they've watched Lain.
>>
>>117962451
I bet it's the same people who worship type-moon works because shiny.
>>
>>117959307
This shit is basically seasonal output of Kyoani but branded as Ghibli. Interesting first act and shitty soundtrack.
>>
>>117963054
Yeah kyoani drop 50 million dollars on all their seasonal output. If you can't perceive how this is in a whole different league to that you don't really have a clue what you are talking about.
>>
wheres best DL niggers?
>>
>the spirits from Moon are not rabbits
Fire whoever did that scene..
>>
>>117959882
The previously posted weebm didn't do anything to impress.
>>
>>117961324
>watching bad shit makes your power level higher

The amount of retarded people who have fallen for this bait is sad.
>>
>>117964171
No kagome kagome either, who the fuck directed this shit?
>>
OK, this film was weird, had some really good parts, I really liked the ending and some part/scenes during the movie, but some other just seems really not well done in 'camera movement' and story (characterization) . The soundtracks is amazing, something to expect from Hiashi.

I will say 4/5
>>
I liked the parts when Kaguya sang.

>barely holding back tears at the end
>then the children start singing
Way to ruin an emotionally impacting ending, Takahata. Saved me from embarrassment at the movie theater though, so I guess that's a plus.
>>
>>117972281
I quite liked that, it felt cleansing.
>>
It was far from being a great film. It suffered from an outdated story. The "I get rich, but I'm unhappy because I can't be with my poor friends anymore who, incidentally, are the only good persons on heart, while rich people are bad" kind of story has been overdone to death. It even begs the question to how hypocritical it is, when her "friends" are ruffians who would cheat on their wives in a heartbeat.
>>
>>117972927
That wasn't the story.
>>
What is that song the children sing?
I want to have that song as just its own song
>>
>>117972986
It was part of the plot and of the utmost importance to its resolution. It was pretty much 70% of everything that happened.
>>
>>117973138
No not really, you have totally missed from a narrative and thematic perspective.
>>
>>117973233
Enlighten me, pls.

>Inb4 it is a catharsis for Takahata career, message about growing up, fleeting time, ephemerial character of life
>>
>>117972012
yep, they could have expanded a bit more on her, she was the only comical relief
