Why is Shirou ~~Archer too, I guess~~ there? If the 4th HGW ended so that the Emiya-Einzbern family didn't split up, then why would Kiritsugu have adopted Shirou. Did he kidnap him for shits and giggles?

Basic world-line principles, if an event is meant to happen in a world-line then it will happen regardless of "How". Check Prism world, even though the fire didn't happen Shirou's family still died "somehow".

Read Steins;Gate to get a basic idea of it. Shirou's family dying and him being taken in by Kerry is just a common event, regardless of "how" at times.
