Are Argevollen mechs considered realistic or fantastic?

No the grunts are more realistic military type while Argevollen and the like are generic humanoid mecha. It was just painful to watch the massive distance from a grunt to shit like argevollen in the same fucking episode.

This is literally one of those "why don't they make the bullets out of the same thing as the armour" deals. No one would use a weapon so awful.
Even the grunt mechs are unrealistic, those arms would break off under their own weight if they were made with real-world materials (that could stand up to the rigors of war).
Real world mechs wouldn't have jointed arms, they would have fixed "wings" with various weaponry attached (much like helicopter gunships). The rest of the mech could easily look similar to the grunt mechs of Argevollen.
Still wouldn't be able to use thrusters though, as the force of movement would completely shatter the legs.
