Season 2.
They were clearly expecting another season after the first 24 episodes which didn't pan out.
Season 2 tries to stuff as much as possible yet manages to be both rushed and slow as hell at the same time. Characters don't get proper screentime and development sucks.
Worse, the show stopped being fun.

Haruto, L-Elf, and Akira were fine.
Shoko suffered from just not being written for and out of character for sake of plot.
What that applies most to are the Dorassian character, focusing on them which amounts to nothing and waits time.

Well, Akira was fine. I'll agree with that. Same for L-Elf. The moment where he tries his hardest to rescue Lieselotte were pretty cool.
Wasn't a fan of him losing his super competence though.
As for Haruto... not a fan of his Season 2 development. The show hammers in the Feeding angle way too much and Haruto is ultimately unable to actually deal with the fact that he needs to predate on others to survive.
