I thought it was more about the how someone's sexual images and fantasies can actually ruin relationships in real life.
I think he was worried about not being a good enough mature adult, so he broke up with his girlfriend out of insecurity. This is just bullshit. And nothing of the sort was implied.
The guy is surely an anime otaku. And he surely is destructive, towards himself. Not ideas of what women should be. Nothing of the sort was ever implied.
If anything we can see that addiction had a lot to do with it if it not simply being the core of everything behind the video. What with the tobacco and alcohol and everything else shown in the video.
The guy simply could not get his life together and it fell apart. His waifuism (that he had no control over), surely played a large part in it as well.
But the thing to make note out of all this is the addiction and the guy not being in control of any of it. Not, the otaku concepts or waifuism.
The video is made by anime otaku for crying out loud. And the entire event was organized and put together by anime otaku as well.
The video is not anti-otaku or anti-waifuism. Anyone who thinks so surely can't understand much about these kinds of people making these animations. If anything, as elaborated upon above, it just showcases some of the many pitfalls that admittedly exists to this lifestyle.
