Holy fuck, they don't even acknowledge existence of Lupin the Third: Mine Fujiko to Iu Onna which was actually the best Lupin anime series and was closest to original manga unlike the rest of Lupin franchise which was made for kiddies. Sad indeed.

As much as I love Sawashiro and Koike, the Fujiko anime wasn't really all that good.
Well, there's always hope for more Lupin as in the Lupin III versus Kaitou Kid movie in 2020. At least there were two movies featuring Lupin III versus Detective Conan.

For parts of them, they are, but of course if you insist that one of the two franchises MUST FAIL and DIE FOREVER in a "versus situation" then that is not going to happen. That would be asking far too much of a versus. I'm just glad they are willing to have crossovers between two otherwise unrelated franchises. Both of the Lupin vs Conan movies were theatrical grade as they were shown in theatres first. Now, if only there was a crossover anime for KanColle and Arpegggio of Blue Steel....

The specials and movies aren't a bad place to start. You can read descriptions of them and pick one that seems interesting or search for lists of other people's top favorite specials and pick something from there.
The older tv series are very episodic so you can start wherever there too.
The Fujiko Mine series could also be appealing to you and I know some people who really liked it as an entry to the rest of the franchise.
