It takes itself a little too seriously for my tastes. But I'd say give it a try if you want some recent Lupin that's different from the bland yearly TV specials.
It's a prequel to the 1st television series, so you may want to watch that first if you haven't already. Although it's best to keep in mind that Zenigata in the Fujiko anime is almost like a completely different character.

The Fujiko anime is dark and very different from the usual tone of the Lupin anime series. Sometimes the plot goes full retard, but the visuals and the soundtrack make up for that tenfold.

Anyone else think the pink jacket series is underrated? The art's a little wonky but I think it stays true to the original manga's style barring Fujiko looking like some sort of deviantart goblin.

Pink Jacket is apparently available on Hulu. I wonder how the subs compare to the rips on BakaBT. It seems those subs are from a HK DVD set.

I picked up a good number of volumes on eBay (pic related) for $40 in an auction. I then bought the missing volumes of the first series for around $20 or $30. It was certainly worth it, though Tokyopop's print quality could be better.
