If anything it'll rub salt in the wound because this person who should be a loser is in fact everything they wish they could be. Or, is your attitude to Japanese shit holding you back from unleashing the cool person inside of you?
Don't become boring and isolated by sticking to just this, explore other hobbies. Don't let the short term escapism distract you, decide on some goals in life and aim for them. Learn to take interest in other people. And if you make yourself an interesting person, people will take interest in you too.

I visited japan 2 years back. Luckily it wasn't the first country I'd visited. There really is a ton to do there, as long has you aren't limiting yourself.
