If this is true why not kill Schroedinger? The fact that he can bend reality to his will and can even appear on a mental level seems a lot stronger. It's hard to find a single character to defeat him. He is a living castle after all, a collection of souls. Schrödinger held him in a stalemate for about 30 years, but was never actually capable of killing him.
Walter was the only one who had an actual chance in the story. IIRC he only had a few extra souls left at that point. Walter would have destroyed him if his rushed surgery hadn't ended up turning him into a kid.
Maybe some kind of mech could have taken him out too, with an attack that reaches a great distance. Or Bayonetta, with hell summons that do a similar job.
Always bummed me out that Alucard never fought the Captain. He really ended up going down like a literal bitch in a very short fight.
