I'm a VN-fag and I like the anime original stuff so far. Illya vs Rin was good and it resolves my frustration with "why didn't Rin just try and attack Illya". Saber killing Berserker with her sword I was unsure about, but it makes no real difference to the story since Berserker gets BTFO by Gil anyway and the amount of lives he has left is irrelevant.

It's only possible because Illya is so fucking OP and generates a bajillion mana. She makes so much above and beyond what Berserker needs that he can shunt the excess into God Hand to generate extra lives. The fact that it takes three full days even with Illya shows you just how much mana an extra life takes to conjure up.

Well, the issue is that Invisible Air can't possible kill Berserker. It's C rank, he auto-negates it no matter how hard she STRIKE AIR's his shit.
That's why I was wondering if it just APPEARED that she attacked him with the air and it was actually just her letting Excalibur out for a split second.
I realize this is dumb rules lawyering of the worst sort, but that is one of the things I like about Fate so it bugs me.

The thing is that godhand only applies to berserker's skin, and since Saber had her sword already partway inside him his A rank resistance didn't mean shit, allowing her to use invisible air to blow him up from the inside.

Excalibur itself is an A+ rank weapon. IA is basically her hitting someone with the sheath still on her sword's edge, which is why her attacks with it are only C rank and in the VN don't hurt Berserker when she gets through his guard.
I figured she was letting the actual edge of the sword out for split seconds and thats why she was cutting through his skin, and the part at the end when she killed him was just her using the sword since IA came all the way off.
That being said, it is possible to use a micro-sized Excaliblast. The charge time on the attack corresponds to the number of targets, not the strength of the attack. The blast is always A+ strength regardless of charge. That's why her charge time against Rider's chariot was so short compared to the River battle.

No, Invisible Air is just the spell that controls the air around the sword, it is not an attack itself (but it does increases the overall attack 'power') unless you unleash it it in the "The Iron Mallet of the Wind King". Excalibur is still the weapon doing the actual cutting.
