Why haven't they been phased out?
They have been deprecated sexually in favor of traps and they can't preform against men in terms of thought or physical labor, other than childbirth they have no advantages, and a number of people wouldn't call that an advantage.
They're deprecated and should be phased out post haste.

Well I'm not a big breasted woman, so I haven't tried those particular sweaters.

I've only really worn one sweater in the past years, and it only cost me like 25 bucks and it was pretty comfy, but it's a male one.

Anyway I looked for "high quality sweaters" and found this one for 6k dollars. I'm pretty sure I'd rather knit my own sweater or just wear some rags than buy this shit.

>I Am Rich is an iOS application which was formerly distributed using the App Store, and developed by Armin Heinrich. When launched, the screen only contains a glowing red gem, and an icon that when pressed, displays the following mantra in large text:

I am rich
I deserv [sic] it
I am good,
healthy &
successful

>The application is described as "a work of art with no hidden function at all", with its only purpose being to show other people that they were able to afford it, making it a Veblen good. I Am Rich was sold on the App Store for 999.99 United States dollars, 799.99 euros, and 599.99 pounds sterling, the highest price Apple allows for App Store content.[1][2] The application was removed from the App Store by Apple Inc. without explanation the day following its release, on August 6, 2008.

Because clothes that are "really expensive" usually are made with better materials and overall better quality in general. You could buy high-end luxury goods with no branding and it could still cost absurd amounts of money because it's a niche market for those who could afford it.

YSL duffle coats for example cost $2,600. Made in Italy with the best material available sourced by Heidi herself. In part, buying it gets me a quality product in terms of material and craftsmanship but it also allows me to support Heidi's drug addiction.Or, I could buy a Gloverall duffle coat for $500 with material that's a few grades down in terms of quality and Made in UK. The incremental cost of $2,100 might not be worth it to some but it's clearly worth it to other. Those YSL Duffle Coats cleared out last winter.

>>
>>115700448
>Do you also think $50 cashmere scarves are equivalent to $1000 cashmere scarves?
This is dependent on the cashmere content. The $50 scarf may have a lower, equal or higher cashmere content than the $1000 scarf, so you shouldn't make any conclusions based on the price.

It's a fallacious to assume that a product is higher quality than the other because it's priced higher.

>/a/ in charge of fashion
There's more to clothing than just the base cost of throwing chink kids in a sweatshop. A good designer piece will last you a decade and will still hold some resale value because that shit's made by people who know what they're doing instead of people with dollar signs for eyes looking at marketing statistics. There's a reason why most high-end designers don't even have logos on their products.
It's the difference between Freezing and Alter. To people who don't give a shit, it's the same. But ask the buyfag thread and they'll give you a powerpoint presentation with 38 cited sources about how much of a fag you are.

Wrong. There are 100% cashmere scarves that cost around $50 (from Uniqlo). Cashmere is a true lux product unlike wool. The $50 scarves are made from scraps hence why it sheds and pills at a high rate. The higher quality and cashmere is very robust and generally reserved for Italian and Scottish textile makers. Anything leftover aka the short/lower quality cashmere is shit and dumped to countries like China. There's also the refining process and weaving that differs beyond the material as well. The cheaper it is, the shittier the scarf actually really is.

>I mean if I told you that Alienware and Apple Products are a waste of money you wouldn't say anything, but suddenly if we're talking about sweaters shit doesn't fly the same?
The reasoning for that is simple. Alienware and Apple products can easily be proven to be a waste of money most of the time, because all the components are well documented. This means you can easily look up how much each component is worth.

In the case of clothing and such, something like that is much harder to do, so people can easily make claims that are very hard to disprove. They will keep saying the material is higher quality because the product costs more without any evidence on their side, and if you want to disprove that statement, you'd more or less need to study the microscopic structure of the material itself.

But that's not true. The price of many clothing products rise simply because they bear a brand.

I'm not saying that something cheaper doesn't necessarily mean lower quality,I'm saying that something more expensive doesn't necessarily mean higher quality. There's something called diminishing returns. Once you get to 100% cashmere, adding more zeroes to the end of the price won't make it more % cashmere.

http://www.moreintelligentlife.com/content/intelligent-life/sceptical-shopper-cashmere
>Pure is not an absolute term. The finest cashmere consists only of the whitest, longest, thinnest hair from the underfleece, whereas lower-quality cashmere may be either the shorter, coarser hair from the undercoat–typically from the rear end of the animal rather than its belly–or, more dubiously, shorter hair that has either not been properly dehaired or, worse still, blended with yak or rabbit hair. When the best white (dehaired) cashmere costs $75 per kilo and one sweater requires at least 200g of fibre, the motive for mass-producers to use cheaper stuff becomes clear.

And OSX is UNIX whether it's bastardized or not it's still UNIX. The pretty UI on top and the proprietary support is just icing on top.
And I prefer a UNIX environment since I'm doing a lot of C coding and I'm an Emacs fanboy.

>Better off getting a cheaper PC and installing a free UNIX or Linux distribution
That's exactly what I'm doing, I have a 100 dollar laptop with linux on it. But to get a decent battery life/weight ratio on a laptop you have to look into the premium market usually. I'm willing to sacrifice performance for it.

Everything already said in answer to this is true, plus Japanese people seem to be more comfortable in general with spending a lot of money on their clothes. They buy nicer things, and spend more on each item, but choose carefully and have smaller wardrobes in general than westerners. It makes sense if you take into consideration how status conscious they are, and how small their living spaces tend to be. The American-style fast fashion model wouldn't work as well there. Frankly I think their method makes more sense in general. I'd rather have a few high quality items than a horde of cheap crap that wears out after a few washes.

KanaHana can just afford to have the best of both worlds and have a lot of nice clothes. Plus she was probably paid to wear that sweater for the shoot by Sacai.
