I would have agreed with you two or three years ago, but CNs new programming feels too inspired by Adventure Time. Older Cartoon Cartoons had some individuality since they didn't share most of the same staff between them, while most of the new shows are made or directed by people who worked on AT. You don't get the same variety and contrasts in programming you would have gotten back in the 00s when KND, Megas, EEnE, Justice League, and Fosters aired simultaneously.
While Nick only airs shit, Disney delays the daylights out of their good shows, and The Hub treats anything that isn't MLP like third-rate trash, Cartoon Network's biggest fault is that their lineup feels incestuous.

Nobody wanted to copycat Doug because that shit was fucking boring, but there were many that definitely wanted to create their own Ren and Stimpy, but when they realized that nobody was succeeding, they gave up because being gross wasn't enough and that John K. had to fight tooth and nail to get away with a lot of the shit he did.
