That's a very good price for a Cintiq, the more recent 13 inch models are $1200.
As much as I'd suggest starting out with somethign cheaper, or just some paper and pencils if you've never drawn before, I don't think you'll have such an easy time finding a Cintiq at that price again.

While that's a bit of a bummer, it's not something that bothers me. The main appeal of a Cintiq (which we're comparing the Surface Pro to) is drawing on the screen.
The fact that I'd be able to use a Surface Pro on my daily commute and watch some chinese cartoons or play some games while in the train is highly appealing too.
