It boggles my mind how stupidly Tenboro is going about with the whole thing.
Instead of expunging and deleting whole galleries, they could be only expunging the content within the galleries and substituting the cover with a warning image that the gallery was deleted and should not be uploaded.
That way:
1. Sadpanda could serve as a VNDB/MangaUpdates equivalent in addition to content because they can't be forced to remove simple list and listing shit is not infringing.
2. The people who frequent e-hentai could use the galleries as a pretense to backup and share on other sites or through other channels which would be a big middle finger to Jacob/FAKKU/Wani without any potential for repercussion.
3. Sadpanda would still be relevant as future uploads of "illegal' fantranslations, in their "blank content gallery" form would serve as an RSS feed of sorts for everyone to seek those works and know what to seek.
4. They cut out much of the staff work in regards to uploaders uploading forbidden content because uploaders will then know what not to upload because they can see which galleries are blank and have a caution sign as a cover.
Why NOT go down this road?
It seems to be the best solution of all.
