Actually the nose isn't even what I'd call Tumblr nose. Looks like just the standard saturation shading used on the rest of the body since the bottom of the nose is going to be farthest from the light source anyway. No. The Joestar family's stands are derived from DIO's one grand stand. Each of their stands took an aspect of The World, modified it and amplified it into their own stand. Hermit purple is a branch of The World's primitive tracking abilities. Crazy Diamond was taken from Dio's primitive healing abilities, etc.

Dio somehow survives a face full of Ripple, his severed head doesn't splatter all over the ground like a watermelon, his magic chinese zombie somehow manages to find him before the sun comes up, then he kills Jonathan with magic eye lasers out of nowhere because Jonathan is standing perfectly still for five minutes, not reacting at all to the fact that there are hundreds of zombies on board the ship with him and his newlywed pregnant wife, when previously he would go all Sunlight Yellow Overdrive at anything undead that so much as looked at him funny.
