There has been a trend over the past several years of Japanese moviegoers preferring live action adaptations of anime (ex. Rurouni Kenshin) over Western films, even big-shots like MCU capeshit. How did a little kids' show like Yokai Watch beat fucking Star Wars? I'm not even mad, just surprised.
