Nothing's safe, but you're probably better off just using your private connection because even the shitty ISPs like comcast will tell companies to fuck off unless they have a serious case against you.

If you use torrent you also share/upload data you download from the torrent, the company who owns the product can sue you for lost profit which can get pretty expensive. If you download from a one click- hoster you can only get sued for the price of the product, and its much safer since Copyright lawyers search for the bigger fishes (uploaders).
Log files on dubious one click hosters usually are much more difficult to access than torrents which are easy to get IPs from.
