Couldn't find any general thread
So this is just a PNG image assigned to the face of a 3D box
How do I remove the white coloring of the texture so that it becomes transparent?

It's ok you friendly bunch,
I discovered a solution through the introductory of alpha channels in textures
Thanks for your help anyway

99% of the time, if it works in the viewport, it works in the renderer.

OP, you need to connect a black/white (grayscale) map to the materialscutout/opacity that tells it not to render those areas. This map is usually called an "alpha mask", you can make one in photoshop pretty easy, and there is usually already one existing in the Alpha channel of the image.

Yeah I found this thank you,
I set the same texture as the opacity layer and assigned a Mono intensity channel to 'Alpha'
